Nationals and Oireachtas Workshop Details

Nationals  and Oireachtas Workshop Details…
If you are planning to dance at the Oireachtas this November,   please make every effort possible to attend the  workshop this June. We don’t like to use the word “mandatory”because we realize that there are some circumstances that are unavoidable and may make it impossible for your dancer to attend.
We have scheduled two guest instructors to join us from June  7-15. They will be traveling from overseas and will not be returning again before the Oireachtas. We plan to split the cost of this workshop among all of the dancers who will compete at the 2013 Oireachtas since all of the dancers benefit from workshop. Of course we hope that everyone will benefit directly and attend. We do not yet know the final costs but we will pass that info along a soon as possible. It is our hope to keep the fees within the range of your monthly June/July tuition (since the annual tuition covered classes through May) with some dancers absorbing more of the cost than others depending on the structure of the workshop. We hope that you will all agree that this is the fairest way to earn the benefits of a workshop.
This workshop does not replace the Summer Champ Camp that we are offering from June 17-22 (per an earlier email). We will have camp during  that week as well (optional but strongly encouraged as reinforcement of the workshop). Additionally, there seems to be interest in an August camp. We are still looking at dates and will likely hold camp/classes during the week of August 19—
July will not be a busy class month—maybe a few feis practices as needed.
We are eager to start preparing for the Nationals and the Oireachtas  as these two competitions are “qualifiers” for the 2014 World Championships in London!! We had great results at last year’s Oireachtas— with many dancers achieving personal heights—and we hope that every dancer will set a new, higher, goal right now and work hard toward reaching it. Dancers who set the goal of a recall last year should set a new ambitious goal for 2013… anything is possible! We have a great class structure, large studios, strong teachers, challenging and competitive material, supportive parents and classmates, a very dedicated fitness instructor and skilled dancers! It’s the perfect recipe for success.
Looking ahead to October and the All Irelands….. information is available at www.clrg.ie . The dates are Sunday October 27 through Sunday November 3rd (yes, over  Halloween). The 2013 venue is Waterfront Hall,  Belfast, Ireland. If you are considering this trip, please look over all of the posted information soon and let us know your intentions. All Open dancers and high-placing prelim dancers are welcome to attend. Entries are due before August 7th.
